Altair HWSolvers 2017.2.4 Hotfix | 1.6 Gb
Altair has released an update to HyperWorks Solvers 2017.2. This hotfix contains enhancements, new features and bug fixes to RADIOSS and OptiStruct that were previously released. Besides RADIOSS and OptiStruct help package has been updated to reflect the improvements in the software package.

Highlights
Version 2017.2.4 of RADIOSS fixes critical issues detected in 2017.2.3 release and includes some enhancements.
Finite Volume Airbag (/MONVOL/FVMBAG1)
- Reduction of the starter time for the automatic FVM airbag meshing.
- On win64 machines, behavior improvement of automatic FVM airbag meshing.
- Automatic setting of DTBAG and NFV in /TH/MONV when FVMBAG1 airbag is defined in the model.
- Implementation of heat transfer option in case of airbag temperature is lower than the ambient temperature.
Failure Model /FAIL/TAB1
- Correction of an issue with strain rate dependent instability table.
- New integer flag for selecting the instability or fracture regularization method located in card 4 field 10.
Ch_i_f, Flag for choice of instability or fracture regularization.
= 1 (Default): Element length regularization affects the fracture curve
= 2: Element length regularization affects the instability table
= 3: Element length regularization affects both fracture curve and instability table Material /MAT/LAW19 (FABRI)
- Stability improvement for QEPH and BATOZ shell elements in /PROP/TYPE9 (SH_ORTH).
- To improve stability, the minimum value of the reduction factor RE is 0.001.

Improvement to take into account multiple values coming from /INIBRI/STRS_F cards and other /
INIBRI cards (strain and aux) in the same element.
/DT/THERM
Correction of bug concerning thermal time step and de-blocking limit conditions at the end of thermal run.

What's new and changed in OptiStruct 2017.2.4.
